PURPOSE

After more than a decade practicing architecture, I stepped into a profession that demanded precision but left little room for wonder. The part of me that thrived on drawing, shaping, and exploring went quiet—but it never disappeared.

SIDEQUEST.92 is where that creative impulse found its voice again. It’s a studio for side projects—architecture, art, objects, and ideas—each made with intention. Some pieces explore sacred story and theology; others study proportion, structure, or craft for their own sake. Together they form a single pursuit: to recover the joy of making as an act of meaning.

Side projects that actually ship.
SIDEQUEST.92 began as a creative detour—a way to make again, to learn again, to see again. It’s where theology meets the workshop, and where experiments in ink, wood, and pixels point toward something bigger. Each project tells a story of process and discovery—of chaos taking shape, order finding beauty, and meaning emerging through the act of making. No hype. No junk. Just the good stuff.

Why “92”? In many Vietnamese neighborhoods across America, pho restaurants proudly include the year their owners arrived in the U.S.—a quiet badge of origin, survival, and identity. For me, that year is 1992. SIDEQUEST.92 is both a personal rebirth and a tribute to those roots—an ongoing quest to create beauty, meaning, and memory through design and faith.
