Kingdoms rise and fall. God reigns.

The Kingdoms is a visual meditation on Genesis 11, Exodus 25–26, and the book of Daniel, exploring the tension between the kingdoms of this world and the kingdom of God.

Drawing from the Tower of Babel, the tabnît—the pattern revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai for the tabernacle—and the imagery surrounding Daniel’s exile and visions, the piece brings the seen and unseen realms into tension. An earthly tower rises from below while, beyond it, a window opens into star-filled heavens and the radiant presence of God.

Babylon appears powerful and permanent, yet Daniel repeatedly pulls back the curtain to reveal another reality. Earthly kingdoms rise, boast, fracture, and eventually pass away. Behind them stands a kingdom that does not originate from human power and will not share their fate.

Above them all is the kingdom of God—coming from heaven, filling the earth, and ultimately bringing heaven and earth together.

The image is ultimately about exile, hope, and the quiet confidence that no empire is eternal.

Earthly kingdoms come and go, but God kingdom.
