Visions in Exile is a contemporary icon drawn from the visions of Daniel—visions received under empire, in exile, where the visible world is opened to reveal the unseen.

At the center, the Son of Man comes with the clouds of heaven, surrounded by radiance and framed as an opening within the darkness. Around him rise the beasts of Daniel’s vision: images of kingdoms, powers, and empires that appear overwhelming, yet remain temporary before the kingdom of God.

The surrounding stars evoke the unseen realm that repeatedly breaks into Daniel’s world. The arch becomes a threshold between what is visible and what is revealed. Gold marks glory and divine presence. The beasts remain dark and monumental, while the Son of Man stands at the ordered center.
